Summer youth theatre

The Youth Theatre program at Avon Players is conducted in June and July. The Youth Theatre program is designed as a learning experience for children who are between 9 and 18 years of age. No special training or prerequisites are necessary for a child to become involved in the Youth Theatre program. For many children, their experience in Avon’s Youth Theatre program is their introduction into the world of acting and productions.

Auditions for the production will happen in June. All the child and parent have to do is to show up at the theatre on the day of auditions and register. If a child is selected for the production, he or she will be required to pay a tuition fee towards their participation. Registration is available both online through our website, in person at our box office, or by phone at (248) 608-9077, during Box Office hours. The production is held on the middle weekend in July and has three performances: one on Friday night, one on Saturday afternoon, and one on Saturday night.

Information about the Youth Theatre program is posted on our website in the spring, usually early March. There, you will find information about the upcoming production, such as dates of auditions, rehearsal dates, and the cost of tuition.

While Youth Theatre is an excellent venue for children who are new to acting or who want to hone their acting skills, be aware that sometimes there are shows during the regular season that need young talent as well. Please check the regular Audition tab for more information.
